In 2025, the IV Asian Youth Games will be held in Tashkent, and in 2030 – the Summer Asian Games in Doha.

The General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Muscat is completing its work. At the event, which determined the prospects of the Olympic movement on the continent, one of the most memorable events in the history of Uzbek sports took place.

On December 15, our compatriot Otabek Umarov was elected as a Vice President of the OCA. On December 16, our compatriot was officially included in the leadership of the organisation.

One of the issues on the agenda of the event was the signing of a contract between the host country of the Youth Asian Games of 2025 and OCA.

The Assembly officially confirmed that in 2025 the IV Asian Youth Games will be held in Tashkent. After that, an agreement was signed between Uzbekistan and the OCA.

The First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Ravshan Irmatov, the Chairman of National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Rustam Shoabdurakhmanov, the General Secretary of NOC, the Director of the IV Asian junior games “Tashkent-2025”, the Vice president of Uzbekistan Rugby Federation Oybek Kasymov, Vice-chairmen and advisers, representatives of city administration of Tashkent participated in an event.

The Assembly also determined the venue for the 2030 Asian Games. Doha, Qatar and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, competed for the right to hold this prestigious competition. As a result of the decisive vote, the Qataris won the right to host the most prestigious sporting event on the continent in 2030. then, Riyadh will host the Asian Games of 2034.

The contract was signed by OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al Sabah, OCA Vice President Otabek Umarov, NOC Chairman Rustam Shoabdurakhmanov, First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Ravshan Irmatov and representative of the Tashkent City Khokimiyat Izzatbek Djuraev.

Holding the Youth Asian Games in Tashkent in 2025 is a good opportunity to demonstrate the development of New Uzbekistan to the world community. It is expected that during this major competition about 5,000 guests will arrive in our country. This, in turn, means that our shoulders have a great responsibility. We are confident that with the support of our dear President and Government, we will be able to organize this large-scale complex competition at a high level.
