Italy’s Sebastian Negri thanked England’s Ellis Genj for promptly coming to his aid when a flanker collapsed during a Six Nations Cup match in Rome.
Negri managed to play only 16 minutes in this meeting, coming on as a substitute in the second half, after which he received a serious blow in a collision with an opponent and fell unconscious on the lawn. The player was given medical assistance for a long time, after which he was taken away from the field on a motorcar. According to Negri, Genj was the first to come to his aid and promptly pointed out to the referees of the match that the Italian had lost consciousness.
Genj was glad on his Twitter that Negri had escaped a serious injury: “I was told that Sebastian Negri got on his feet, and this, I think, is the main result of the day.”
Negri replied : “Thank you, Ellis Genj, I appreciate what you have done. You are top man! Everything is fine and I feel much better. I wish you and England all the best for the rest of the Six Nations Cup!”
