Pursuant to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 29, 2019, Presidential Decree -4500 “on measures for the development of rugby sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and for the further development of rugby sports, a conference on the election of the chairman and secretary general of the Tashkent regional branch of the rugby federation of Uzbekistan was held on August 16 this year in the Khokimiyat of the Tashkent region.
The meeting was attended by the first Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan S.Safoev, khokim of the Tashkent region, acting Z.Mirzaev, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Sports Development B.Mamatnazarov, Secretary General of the Federation K.Jalilov and deputy khokim of the Tashkent region, heads of regional departments and organizations, district and city sports educational institutions, rugby coaches.
On the agenda, Chairman of the Tashkent regional branch of the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan Nasirov Murojon Lazizovich was unanimously elected Chairman of the Tashkent regional council of the federation of trade unions of Uzbekistan, and Rashidov Utkirbek Turabekovich was elected general secretary – Deputy Chairman.
The leadership of the Tashkent regional branch of the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan is tasked with selecting talented young athletes from cities and districts of the region, forming a national team of the region, regularly conducting training camps with the participation of members of national teams, as well as organizing and holding prestigious rugby competitions in the Tashkent region at a high level.
