Results of the visit of the delegation of the Uzbekistan Rugby Federation to Bukhara
In order to develop rugby in Bukhara region, as well as its popularization among students and schoolchildren, the Uzbekistan Rugby Federation organized a visit to Bukhara with the participation of a representative of Asia Rugby. As we reported earlier, the representative of Asia Rugby (a consultant for the development of rugby in Asia) Benjamin van Royen arrived in Tashkent on November 13, 2020 in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation, get acquainted with the work done by the URF and discuss further development prospects.
The URF delegation visited Bukhara from November 17 to 19, 2020 to conduct tag-rugby training for physical education teachers from 20 schools, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 29, 2019. №PD-4500 “On measures for the development of rugby in the Republic of Uzbekistan”. The delegation included E. Lebed, D. Kulikov, A. Gulyamov, A. Shirov, B. van Rooyen – representative of Asia Rugby, A. Khamova – foreign coach of the Uzbekistan women’s rugby team.
During the trip, the candidates for the post of Chairman and Secretary General of the Bukhara Rugby Federation, as well as responsible organizations (sponsors) were discussed. Questions regarding the activities of the Bukhara Rugby Federation and the allocation of a sports base for further training were discussed.
In addition, issues were discussed with the head of the sports department of the Bukhara Engineering and Technological Institute (BETI) Bakhrom Mamurov about the organization of men’s and women’s rugby-7 teams in accordance with the DCM-122 of 03/04/2020. In addition, a meeting was held between the representative of the URF, the curator for the Bukhara region, Asad Gulyamov, with the responsible sports officer of the Khokimiyat of the Bukhara region in order to discuss and resolve the above issues.
The Uzbekistan Rugby Federation is grateful for the hospitality and well-coordinated work of the relevant organizations that contributed to the fruitful and effective implementation of this visit. I would especially like to highlight the active participation of the representative of the National Olympic Committee of the Bukhara region, Khusenov Khusenali, in organizing the necessary meetings and solving the abovementioned issues.
