The Uzbek Embassy in Seoul held a video conference with the participation of representatives of the Uzbek Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and the South Korean Institute of Sports, Dunyo news agency reported.
The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Uzbek Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports M. Arzikulov, researchers of the institute, as well as heads of departments of the Korean Institute of Sports Kwon Il Kim, Hong Sun Song, leading professors and researchers.
At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of establishing close cooperation between scientific research sports institutions of the two countries. The parties exchanged views on the identification of young talented athletes, the development of scientifically based measures to strengthen their physical fitness, the development of program activities aimed at achieving high results in international competitions.
In particular, the participants of the online dialogue noted the similarity of the state policy in the field of development and promotion of sports in Uzbekistan and South Korea, which means that there are ample opportunities for expanding mutually beneficial relations in the future.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on signing a memorandum of understanding between the Uzbek Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, and the South Korean Institute of Sports. The document provides for joint research, exchange of experience in the field of training athletes and improving sports policy, as well as future visits of experts from the above institutions.
