A reception was held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uzbekistan, on October 19, 2022, a meeting was held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea with representatives of the rugby team of military athletes from Korea, the sports club of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan.

At a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic ща Korea to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Kim Hee Sang, from the Korean side, the director of training control of the sports corps of the armed forces of South Korea (KAFAC) Lee Sang Hoon, the commander of KAFAC Kim Dong Yul, the head coach of the team Seo Chun Oh, from the Uzbek side, the head of the sports club of the Ministry of Defense, Mansur Mamadaminov, and the Secretary General of the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan, Kakhramon Djalilov.

Greeting the guests, Mr. Ambassador noted the high level of development of relations between the sports federations of Uzbekistan and the international federation for special sports, regular exchange of experience between coaches, interchangeable trips to participate in competitions. This visit by rugby-athlete Korea is another confirmation of the exceptional relationship between the chosen countries. Especially, Mr. Ambassador noted that the 30th anniversary of the meeting between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, an exchange of ideas took place on further cooperation, implementation of joint projects, organization of cultural and sports events. One of the agreements was the return visit of the rugby team of Uzbekistan, consisting of military athletes, which will take place in the summer of 2023. In addition, both sides will work out the issues of a mutual visit of youth and student rugby teams and the organization of joint training camps.
