On 29–30 August 2026, the first round of the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series 2026, one of the key continental rugby sevens competitions, was held in Suzhou, China. The Uzbekistan national teams represented the country with distinction on the international stage and demonstrated positive progress.
Following the competition, the Uzbekistan Men’s National Team finished 11th, improving its position in the overall series ranking by two places.
The Uzbekistan Women’s National Team, making its debut at the tournament, finished 8th and secured a place among the top eight teams of the round.

At the same time, the battle to secure a place in the Top 8 continues. The next round of the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series will take place on 17–18 October in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The women’s team will aim to maintain its position among the eight strongest teams, while the men’s team will continue its efforts to improve its ranking and break into the Top 8.
The performance in Suzhou marks an important step in the development of Uzbek rugby and further demonstrates that Uzbekistan’s national teams are strengthening their positions among Asia’s strongest teams.
