On February 9 of this year, the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the office of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by the coordinators of the volunteer program Shimmyo Naoki and Odilkhon Khasanov from the JICA side, the General Secretary Kakhramon Jalilov from the Rugby Federation of Uzbekistan, and Anatoly Shirov, the representative in Central Asia from the Asia Rugby side.
The meeting discussed organizational issues of attracting a volunteer rugby coach from Japan for a period of 2 years, an action plan, the current covid situation in Uzbekistan and the anti-covid measures taken. The arrival of the coach from Japan is expected in July this year.
It is worth noting that this will be the third volunteer coach from Japan, who is involved in partnership with JICA. Before that, Japanese specialists Yu Hakuba and Yamamoto Tadaaki were involved in Uzbekistan.
