Referee from Uzbekistan invited to Arab 7’s

The referee from Uzbekistan will serve the matches of the Arab Rugby 7’s international tournament

Uzbekistan referee Yulia Ignatenko has been invited to the UAE to serve matches of the international tournament Arab Rugby 7’s among men’s and women’s teams. In addition, referees from Malaysia and the UAE were called to the tournament.

Yulia Ignatenko is a master of sports of international class. From 2016 to 2021, the captain of the Uzbekistan women’s national rugby team. In 2016, she began refereeing practice at the Uzbekistan Rugby Championships, simultaneously underwent online and offline training at refereeing courses organized by the Uzbekistan Rugby Federation jointly with Asia Rugby and World Rugby. Since 2021, as a referee and assistant referee, he has been serving official matches held under the auspices of the Asia Rugby. In September 2022, she joined the group of young talents of the refereeing panel of the Asia Rugby.

The Arab Rugby 7’s International tournament will be held on February 18-19, 2023 in Al Ain (UAE). Teams from Egypt, Jordan, Libya, the UAE, Palestine, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Syria will take part in the tournament. The tournament is held under the auspices of the Arab Rugby Federation with the support of the Asia Rugby.

For Yulia, this is the fourth international tournament as a referee. Prior to that, she worked at the Asia Rugby U18 Girls in Tashkent (2021), the Asia Rugby III Division among men’s teams in Bishkek (2022), Asia Rugby U20 among boy’s and girl’s teams in Angren (2022).
