Bukhara student rugby-7 teams began preparations for the Universiade

In Bukhara, on the basis of the sports club of the Bukhara State University, women’s and men’s rugby-7 teams have been created.The coach of the men’s team was Manuchakhr Ibragimov, Associate Professor of the Department of Sports Activities of the Bukhara State University, the women’s team Golibjon Saidov, teacher of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture of the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute.Teams are formed from students with sports experience in other sports such as basketball, handball, kurash, athletics, martial arts.

At the initiative of the sports club of the Bukhara State University, Yegor Lebed, the coach of the youth rugby team of Uzbekistan, was invited from Tashkent to exchange experience.

Rugby lessons were held with the teams and coaches for five days. During the classes, theoretical knowledge was given about the basic principles and rules of the game of rugby, key factors were explained, and practical classes were held on passing and catching the ball on the move, playing in a ruck and lineout, and playing features in defense and attack.

Each day of class ended with a game of touch rugby. After the games, each player was given feedback on his actions on the field, mistakes made and measures to correct them. With the coaches of the teams, a training plan was drawn up to prepare for the upcoming competitions.
