A seminar on training in the World Rugby system was held at the National University of Uzbekistan
On April 23, the Taekwondo and Sports Activity Department of the National University of Uzbekistan held an educational seminar for students majoring in Rugby. The event was dedicated to the issues of training and advanced training of specialists within the framework of the international World Rugby Training & Education system.
The seminar was conducted by:
– Anatoly Shirov, Asia Rugby consultant on rugby development in Central Asia,
– Egor Lebed, GIR coordinator for Uzbekistan,
– Mirzohid Rakhmatillaev, docent of the department.
During the seminar, the participants were introduced to the structure of the international rugby training system, career opportunities in this field – from a player to a coach, referee, World Rugby teacher, head of a club or federation. Particular attention was paid to injury prevention and the Activate program developed by World Rugby.
Egor Lebed explained in detail the process of registering new users in the World Rugby Passport system and completing online modules. He also noted the importance of certification and continuous learning in a digital format.


Anatoly Shirov shared statistics on training of specialists in Central Asian countries and highlighted the model for long-term development of rugby professionals. He also spoke about efforts to localize educational and methodological materials, including the ability to translate content into Uzbek using modern browsers.
In the practical part of the seminar, students independently:
- set up automatic translation of web content into Uzbek,
- registered in the World Rugby Passport system,
- began studying the online course “Rugby”.




The seminar was a necessary step in strengthening the links between the national sports system and the international platform of World Rugby, as well as expanding students’ understanding of the possible opportunities for professional growth in rugby.
